Even thought I found it a flawed movie, I am oddly compelled to buy this, $10 for postage, though... ouch!

If you're going to pay $30+, how 'bout the limited edition R3 set with the leather box, booklet, certificate and plastic rose??

http://us.yesasia.com/assocred.asp?C...ection-videos/

This one is $36.99 w/free ship. CD-WOW also says it has full bit rate DTS (96/24)...I wonder if the Korean 2-disc mentioned above has the same disc contents (it has DTS but doesn't say if it's 96/24).

CD-WOW's link (mentions the bit rate DTS) is
http://www12.cd-wow.com/detail_resul...uct_code=17954

With the exchange rate, though, Yes Asia's price is a few bucks less.

I believe those are different versions of the film. The OP's picture is the new 2004 version of OPERA, whereas; the LE w/Rose is the 19xx version. Correct me if I'm mistaken.

Great sets nonetheless... (I'm still trying to resist... no sure if I could hold much longer though )

Both CD-WOW and Yes Asia list it as the 2004 version with all the appopriate cast and crew credited. The packaging on CD-WOW also indicates it as the 1st disc has the movie's poster campaign on the disc itself.

You could always play it safe, buy both...AND --->

Keep em both (If u luv em)

OR

Sell em both (if u don't like em)

OR

Sell 1, Keep other (you get my drift...)

OR

DONT buy any (cause youre broke or something...Or maybe hate the movie)

Ok...my 2cents

Hi, Just wondering if anybody knows if the limited set is going to be actual leather, or another Hero "Wood Box" incident. Any help would be great. Thanks.

My copy of the deluxe box R3 arrived from CD-WOW yesterday. I wouldn't say the box cover is leather, perhaps more like imitation leather. I got copy No.1264 of the 2000. It is fantastic, even to the full colour mini-programme inside the gatefold case. A lot of attention to detail, including a black bow on the stem of the red rose, as seen in the movie. Definitely DTS and DD 5.1 EX. Cost me AUD 48.00. Unfortunately it has disappeared off the radar at CD-WOW and YesAsia.com but I believe PlayAsia still had it listed earlier today.

Mine came in yesterday as well, and I was pretty impressed. I think I got number 1840 or something. Began watching it and looks pretty good, but sounds terrific. Not being the biggest fan of the movie, but loving the show, I wasnt sure if I was going to pick this up or not, now Im glad that I did.

I've received both versions, acquiring the Korean one today.

I must say, the black faux-leather box looks nicer, especially w/ the fake rose inside.

***Browse my picture link in my sig. Click on the LIMITEDS link to see both versions.

Could you tell us if there are any differences on the discs themselves - different extras etc. I know the Korean disc has a commentary track (in Korean) but not sure of anything else?

Thanks!

Well, the Korean one has some postcards & a small photo-book from what I've seen of other's pics.

Not sure the exact, if not same specs, as the HK one. Alot of writing is in Korean.

Thanks for the compliment. I've taken great pride in this collection as it's grown since 98'. It IS quite addicting

Anyways, I've seen you around on ebay. We've clashed once or twice on bidding ;P

Also seen your collection thru posts and stuff, and yours is equally, if not better, than mine.

P.S. Nice finds

the DTS soundtrack is great, much better than then what I heard in the theatre.

on a funny note, I got my copy late last week, and my zip code was missing two numbers - I am glad the US mail didn't send it back.

Any place to still get the LE of TPOTO? I was out of commission for a while and missed some LEs that I would like to get now, especially this one.

Can someone let me know if it is still available online? Most of the regular etailers that I have used in the past seem to be out.

Thanks

Just bumping this in case for extras
Got my R3 Korean, and they include 4 original promo from the original show with Sarah Brightman and Micheal Crawford (?, not sure if it's crawford), that I think isn't included on the american one.

The R5 Russian edition is even more cooler-looking than this.

yeah, i picked up this Korean edition just for these 4 video promos in their entirety. the making-of segments from the other regions have snippets of them, but not these full videos. this set is really nice, i must say.
