Not the 9 o Clock News (BBC TV Comedy) - complete sets?
Hey,
I wonder if we'll ever see complete season sets of this groundbreaking BBC comedy/sketch show from the 70's/80's?
It launched the careers of Rown Atkinson and Mel Smith, among others.
I know a couple of DVDs do exsist (on R2 anyway) but these are only the "Best Of" shows assembled by the BBC in the 90's, and I'd love to see the series as it was originally broadcast (in fact, it ran for 23 episodes).
What is the BBC like for releasing TV DVDs on R1?

I doubt this would EVER see a R1 release. The BBC licenses their shows to US companies (like A & E, who may actually even have an exclusive deal) and usually if a show has never aired in the US (which I'm pretty sure Not the 9 O'Clock news hasn't) I doubt a US company would buy the R1 rights.

OK.
Well I didnt specifically mean a R1 release, I just meant any release like R1/R2 (I'm sorry I should have worded it better).
How come non-R1 customers seem to get some US shows faster than when they appear on R1?
