Moon 44
I need help regarding this title.
All regions got a crappy 1.33:1 pan/scan release of this 2.35:1 title, except, it seems, for Japan (released in 2001 on DVD). Amazon.co.jp is out of stock. I've checked the usual suspects, no luck, nobody seems to carry it.
amazon.co.jp's page:
http://www.amazon.co.jp/exec/obidos/...978819-9361119
Does anyone have any more information about a widescreen release of this title in another region? I'm desperate to see this film in it's OAR, it's very obvious when watching the pan/scan that this film was pretty much murdered by chopping it down to fit a TV.

wow, thanks for the info... I proceeded through the checkout (slow process since I can't read german, had to use a language convertor), and found that the shipping was more than the title itself, sucks... the title was about 11 euros, shipping was close to 15 euros, ouch! I'l wait until I have several items to order first. Thanks again for the information, it's appreciated.

Actually the movie is 14,99 at Amazon.de and shipping is an additional 13 Euro.
Maybe i can help you out getting the German version cheaper. You are also in luck, Kinowelt released that movie on DVD and often they don't with the the English audio track, but Moon 44 does contain an English DD 2.0 track.

I got my copy from Amazon.de a couple of days ago. It's much, much better than the pan & scan atrocity. When you can see the entire picture the film makes much more sense, especially the action scenes.

You could try the Marketplace section. Shipping could be cheaper.
Make sure you buy from a German International shipper seller (ie not 'caiman_amerika' as they ship from 'Miami'. I can't see them importing German DVDs and then sending them from the US).
Not the best DVD but it's way superior to any other transfer I've seen.
Another good Kinowelt DVD.

Not wishing to make too much of a point here - BUT shipping from Amazon.de is a little more than the 13 Euro as stated.
For the US - for DVD it is 13 Euro PLUS 2.50 Euro per item
For here to Australia - for a DVD it is also 13 Euro PLUS 2.50 Euro per item
a total of 15.50 Euro for a single DVD shipping.
On current currency rates - that makes $U 20 and $A 26 !! THIS IS QUITE DISGUSTING in 2005 that Amazon Germany charges so much for shipping. Is there any justification for such a high price for such a small parcel ???
