Anyone know if there's a english subbed version of the Thai movie Shutter? The Thai release doesn't have subs on the DVD only on the VCD. I just came back from Singapore and I swear I saw the movie there but I wasn't paying attention to the movie unfortunately. Can any Spore dvdtalkers comment as to whether the Spore version of Shutter has english subs? Or DTS audio?

Well there is an HK edition coming out tomorrow, actually. According to sensasian, the DVD features a DTS track and english subtitles.

But layoyo doesn't mention any english subs, so you better check twice before ordering.

Hmmmm. How confusing... cd-wow also lists English subs on their Shutter DVD.

DDDhouse says English subs. Doesn't help, but it's more information. Layoyo hasn't changed and I can't connect to sensasian.

I emailed Sensation and DDDHouse, both confirmed that there are English subs.

Shutter is really good in my opinion. In today's dwindling wave of good horror coming out of Asia, this one does it the right way. Nothing especially new, but very especially well done. Of course, it's been picked up by Hollywood for a remake. Who would've thunk it?

The HK release is fantastic. Excellent picture and an amazing DTS 6.1 track. Good subtitle translation. Even the extras, although scant, are subbed in English. Gotta love that teaser trailer.

You guys should also check out the Thai film Zee Oui, based on the true story of a Chinese immigrant to Thailand who keeps being ridiculed, is driven mad, and becomes a serial killer who eats the heart and liver of children because he believes this will cure him of tuberculosis. The film was nominated for 8 Thai Academy Awards.
