Any of you ever ordered from www.thehut.com? If so, how is it?

Upside is shipping is cheap though. Returns are annoying. It is free if you are in the UK, but if you are ordering from overseas, you have to pay postage up front for returns and then keep reminding them to refund your return postage costs (only applicable if they made an error).

Very poor packaging. It's ok if you are ordering an amaray case I guess, but boxsets or anything that has special packaging I will guarantee will be damaged in some way. They use a very thin bubble mailer, even for a big boxset.

Thanks. It's a matter of only a few dollars, so I'm not concerned. I'll report back with my experience once I receive the DVD.

How come the websites that have been mentioned aren't added to the original thread? Isn't there a way to make this thread "editable" by everyone sort of like wikipedia? Is it possible to set up a thread that if someone finds a a new etailer or forum, you just edit and add it, instead of counting on one person to update the thread?

DVDTalk could potentially set up a separate wiki site, for posting of some info and pages that would benefit from multi-user editing.
Or, someone could set up a page on an existing wiki, such as this DVD wiki at wikia:
http://dvd.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page
It might even be possible to create one on Wikipedia, although such a listing may not fit their guidelines:

If anyone SERIOUSLY wishes to take over the mantle, maybe they could ask Bill. I believe that there was another thread maintainer before him so it'd be like passing the baton in a relay....

Re: International Listing of E-tailers/Reviews/Forums & Resources
I'm all for creating a new thread just for international DVD E-tailers. I don't think I have the time to find forums or review sites though.
I would be happy to list/update/maintain a thread that lists international DVD E-tailers as well as E-tailers that specialize in import DVDs.

Don't want to take over the thread, I just came to make a contribution to the international DVDs retailer's list:
There is a Romanian bookstore in New York, and it also sells (besides hot tea and jazz concerts) DVDs. Apparently they can also be shipped within the US
http://usa.carturesti.ro/ and check the "Filme" menu on the left.
Right now the offer is not wide, but not terrible either. I recommend:
Cold Waves/Razboi pe calea undelor
4 Months, 3 Weeks, 2 Days
12.08 East of Bucharest (A fost sau n-a fost?)
Filantropica/Philanthropy
Restul e tacere/ The Rest is Silence
5 Succese mari pentru 5 filme mici - a collection of 5 shorts, most of them received international awards
I don't know anything about Thomas Ciulei's "Asta e".
Generally these titles have good imdb.com entries.
Last, not least, these DVDs do have subtitles in general. It might be worth calling before ordering, though.

Anyone know of a good Danish retailer that is English friendly or at least ships to the US without ridiculous shipping charges? The one listed in this thread didn't have what I was looking for.

Has anyone ordered from MovieMail in UK? How is their service, and do they charge your card when the order is placed or when it is shipped?

Re: International Listing of E-tailers/Reviews/Forums & Resources
I hope this question is posted in an appropriate place. I've always used a pc for computing, and I had a neat program I downloaded that would translate foreign language dvd sites (such as Amazon France) into English so I could shop them. I recently bought a Mac and can't find a comparable program for it. Every one so far is a program that allows me to cut and paste sections of a page for translation, but I want one that translates whole pages. Can anyone recommend such a program for me? If not, how do you read these pages to order?
Thanks.
Thanks.
