Bollywood DVD question
Can anyone supply any feedback about the relative quality of DVDs of Bollywood movies released by Eros as opposed to DVDs released by BEI/DEI? The twp companies have each released their own DVD of an old Hindi movie called Disco Dancer, and I'm wondering what the difference in quality is. Thanks!

BEI/DEI is almost always the better choice than Eros if a movie is released by both DVD companies...I can tell you what to expect on a typical Eros DVD if the movie was made before the late 1990s: the Eros DVD will be non-anamorphic widescreen and English subtitles will NOT appear during songs. The audio on Bollywood DVDs are usually pretty good, whether its DD 5.1, stereo, or mono - very aggresive and active...After 2000, Eros has been making anamorphic video DVDs, but a lot of the times, pixilation is what bugs me on their new DVDs...
But...DEI has went out of business, so many DEI DVDs are out of print, which means that the many DEI DVDs of popular movies advertised on Bollywood online DVD stores or regular Indian video stores are usually bootlegs. And for some reason, these DEI DVDs have great video and audio quality but they are destructable DVDs and become unwatchable after a couple viewings..
Good luck hunting!
