Korean Cinema help
Hey I love the Korean Movies. Silmido and Baramui Fighter are my 2 favorites. Old Boy is close. I stumbled upon Attack the Gas Station R0. Is it any good, worth the buy? Thanks for any help.

i hated attack the gas station; its silly, stupid, and just overall a total waste of time (imo of course).
shiri was ok...
tale of two sisters is a big thumbs up!
i would second the recommendation about friend; it is the best korean movie i've seen (so far).

I posted in a thread about 6 months ago where I listed all the Korean movies I've seen, grouped by my rating.
See my post here: http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showpos...04&postcount=7
There are about 90 films on my list that I have an opinion about. If you want to know more of why I think a certain way about a particular film, just ask.
Regarding the two you mentioned in your post, I really did not like Attack the Gas Station. Too silly and repetitive. I give Oldboy a very good rating.
If you check my list, you will find that I really liked certain movies that many others don't care for so much, although they do have their fans (ex: Bichunmoo and Volcano High). Conversely, there are those that I disliked greatly that people here rave about to no end (ex: Save the Green Planet and Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance). But that's part of the fun in discussing films. If we all had the same opinion we wouldn't need a discussion forum would we?
As others have said, you must watch A Tale of Two Sisters, provided you like psychological horror.
