Have any of you guys ordered this new film, staring Choi Min-Sik (the lead actor in Oldboy)? I just finished watching it, and while it's not really the greatest film ever, but something about it really clicked with me. It was just a very enjoyable time watching it, and left me with a great feeling after it was all said and done. I also loved the music, something about that also really hit me hard. One reason I enjoyed it so much, I imagine, is because of how different this film was from Oldboy (for the record, I loved Oldboy more than most films). What I mean by that mainly is the performance of Choi Min-Sik. It's pretty much as far from his role in Oldboy that you can get, heh. There are just so many things I enjoyed about this film. I think one of the main reasons that it clicked with me so much is the pacing of the film. Also, some of the images are just so haunting, so beautiful, and say so much.

This is one reason that I love Korean cinema so much now. Visually, so many of their films seem to say so much. You can take a single frame, and just from that you can feel so much emotion.

Anyway, have any of you guys ordered this one yet? If you have been waiting for thoughts on the film, then I for one highly recommend it. I'll be picking up a version of it without a doubt.

I haven't seen much of Choi Min-Sik, only this and Oldboy, but from what I can tell he is one of the better actors out there. Not just from Korea, but from any country in the world. I already can't wait to check out his next project.

My order should be arriving today. Looking forward to it. Have you seen "Mr. Holland's Opus"? The trailer for "When Spring Comes" makes it look pretty similar. Are they?

Most definitely agree with your comments regarding Choi Min-sik; he is number one on my list of favorite actors working today.

Have you seen "Taegukgi"? I was showing it to someone recently and - while I missed it in my first viewing - I think I picked up on something this time around, is that Choi Min-sik in a small role as the North Korean officer they chase during the battle in the town (around the middle of the movie)?

Yes I've seen Mr. Holland's Opus, and yes they are similar. However, one can't say that WSC is a copy of Opus, because it just isn't. It's a totally different style, charm, and emotion.

Nope, I still haven't had a chance to watch that one. I plan on doing so soon though!
