There are no 'forced' french subtitles...and the small parts with french dialogue etc are subtitled in english also.

Many Thanks Rich,
looks like I'll be purchasing this today from Amazon.fr.
Thanks again.

No probs...i've got the 2 disc edition and should just add that if are thinking of getting the 2 disc edition....the supplemental material is not subtitled nor in English either.

Rich, thanks for the info about the collectors editon, might pay the extra 5 euros for the 2 disc edition knowing that the main feature is without forced french subs.
Again many thanks.

You do know that it's set for release on november 2 in the US, right? Or are you getting the French version for the DTS?

torrente 10-19-04 01:34 AM

Thanks Yocke, I was aware of the US release however I will always go for the DTS option everytime.
Torrente.
p.s there is also a uk r2 version coming out jan 10 2005 however I'm unsure of it's specs, I think its being released via UGC -Momentum and taking into account their past history with the few notable exceptions of Amelie and Lost In Translation they rarely release any titles in DTS.

uh, can we actually talk about the movie?

I just rented this from Nicheflix (the Korean DVD edition), and I have to say I was generally entertained, but it all ultimately felt like it was a style over substance kind of film. Not that it was awful, but I felt like there wasn't enough characterization. Technically the film is amazing, the camerawork, (talk about clueless I didn't realize that was the same work done by the director of Dobermann), the editing, the aggressive soundmix - wow! the DTS track rocks. Even though he's listed in the opening screen credits - I still forgot that Prosit was played by Eddie Izzard.

Uh, this is a thread about the dvd. There are other threads about talking about the movie.
