Gunga Din

On September 21 Edition Montparnasse will reissue George Steven's timeless classic Gunga Din. No info yet if this will be a remastered version but knowing Montparnasse's previous work this should be great news to those waiting to see Cary Grant, Joan Fontane, and Douglas Fairbanks Jr. in all their glory. Based on the self-titled book by Rudyard Kipling this is one of the greatest adventure films ever made.

Old Cover-

New cover-

*With original English audio and removable French subs.

*A film which during my childhood years was only second to the legendary adventure epic SANDOKAN.

Cheers,
Pro-B

Gunga Din is one of my favorites as well.

As per digitalbits.com, there is a Region 1 release coming on December 7th.

Never heard of "Sandokan" before - sounds interesting. Too bad there doesn't seem to be an English-subtitled version available; I'd most certainly pick it up.

This version of Sandokan is English friendly though not as complete as the Dutch one. Available only through DVD.it

Thanks Pro-B for going through the trouble of posting the link. "Sandokan" is another title I've now crammed in to my to-buy list.

I've come to realize that the world-at-your-fingertips freedom of choice that comes with being region-free is both a blessing and a curse - but o' what a delightful curse it is!

Not a trouble at all.....

Glad to see another fan of the film (or future fan shall I say). Hopefully one day this saga will come to US shores as well. Until then...enjoy!
