You might want to shop around a little. HKflix is highly overpriced, so you should be able to get a better deal elsewhere.

Also, those versions are Mandarin only, and the original language for these movies is Cantonese. You might be better off just getting the normal single editions of each movie.

What Sifu said....go with single editions.

Kinda got me excited. I thought these were the rumored, recut editions that were talked about several months ago.

If you look carefully, the 4 disc versions (from Mainland China)
are ONLY in Mandarin dubbed. (No original Cantonese)

If you go for the HK MegaStar 2 disc individuals,
you can get the original Cantonese DTS/Dolby audio

skip the 4 disc versions.

What are you talking about?? They have a Lowest Price Guarantee! It's a Guarantee, man! That's the one thing you can count on in this world... when someone guarantees you something.

You're right. It's much better to have really high prices and then maybe lower them if the customer does a bunch of leg work to find the lower prices which are in stock somewhere else. Why give the business to the companies that have the lower prices in the first place? That would be crazy!

Layoyo.com also has a 4 disc set w/Cantonese audio. Not a super-duper set but if you want all-in-one, there it is.

i was looking to get this trilogy and did a search for this thread.

My question is, if i just put on the english sub-titles, does it really matter which dialect of chinese they are speaking? THe $30 for the trilogy doesn't seem like that bad of a price. I'm new buying import dvds so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Wennma01, I guess it really doesn't matter, as long as you don't mind watching the dialogue not sync up with the actors or probably not even be listening to the real actors speak their lines. I'm glad I saw this thread because I won't buy if it is not in the original language.
