Here's the best I could do. The pictures are in PNG form. If anybody's got a good png to jpg converter, I can try to change them, but the quality might be lost.

Dr. Octagon... You're right. Sorry. The top ones are from the old DVD, the new ones are on the bottom.

Shintaro, why do you want the upc?

So I can catalogue it correctly. I've currently got it listed with a UPC of 000000-000000.
And my copy won't arrive until next friday.

EDIT: as above, any issues at chapt 13?

so does the UE come as a copper box inserted into the purple box? yesasia posted a new picture of it, and it's the purple box...i assume the copper box is the same as the picture they had before, and it's not just inside?

The Ultimate screenshots are much closer to the original theatrical print it seems.

In the movie there's a purple box. The coper box comes inside that purple box, like logboy said. Nice touch.

I didn't have a problem with chapter 13, but I think it wouldn't really matter unless we have the same make. I've read many times on boards that some people were having problems with DVDs, but my players have always been nice to me.

so you think it depends on the dvd player and how well it handles the layer change?

There's been more complaints listed on the official site.
More complaints of damaged disc's & disc cases, issues with the film cuts (seems to be related to sloppy work), errors with the story boards eg: with the listed title of Mido's song (its listed wrong), WinDVD search function erros (HTPC owners beware), Photo book finishing problems.

Apparently Starmax has said it would replace damaged contents, but still, this is sounding more dodgy, rushed release every day. And I've had 2 on pre-order since it was announced back on the 20th August

Initially, I had hoped these were isolated cases, but the number of posts is growing every day.

Well, I took the plunge and ordered one from YesAsia. At least the eBay frenzy for the OOP Audition DVD help me offset the cost or it would've been a no-go. I sold a couple of copies of Audition on eBay and I was able to order the Audition Tartan CE and the Oldboy UE with the proceeds, with money to spare!

The Oldboy screenshots are really what put me over the edge. I'm concerned that if Starmax doesn't go through with their plans for the Oldboy 2-Disc Final Edition, the UE will be the only way to get the new transfer. I wasn't a big fan of the SE transfer, and the UE screenshots show how off it was.

I am not a fan of either transfer really and I didnt like the 1st dvd much picture or sound wise at all

but hey its Limited I guess we all hope to get ours in perfect condition as all the waiting will be bad if we get even mildly damaged or faulty dvds no way can they replace them all and its all one big mess about getting things exchanged etc

Zatoichi, the set comes with 3 film frames (inside a cardboard cutout, like from 2009: Lost Memories), and with a book with a flap that has storyboards in it. What Shintaro is talking about is that the frames probably come out of their cutout, and that the names of the storyboards are listed wrong. I have no idea what the latter problem is, though, because the storyboards in the book don't have any names.

The photo book finishing would be the colours or glossiness in the photo book, but unless different sets have different books, I can't see a problem with my book or my filmcuts.

I can't really go into further detail, until I recieve my sets, and then have a look at them. I'm only reporting what has been said on the OldBoy site.

I think the issues with the story board is perhaps to do with the way it's glued to the photo book. IE, not glued very well. And as pat00139 suggested WRT the Film Cuts, perhaps they were not glued well either.

I'm mostly worried about the disc's & covers. Film cuts & story board can always be re-glued, if needed.

From what's been said on another forum, the damage on the sets is pretty much unavoidable...... no care has been taken to cover the pop rivetts inside the case

If mine is damaged YesAsia will be getting a nice email from myself for a replacement
