Haute Tension "Thai Version" bootleg?

I already have the uncut french 2 disc, but I was asking this question on behalf of a friend.

On ebay a ton of people are selling Haute Tension, supposed Thai Version with english dubbing and uncut.

Is this legit? because I havent heard of any of this.

Ethaicd sells it, so i guess it's legit. Too bad about the English dub... The trailer on the Korean dvd was in English i believe, and it sounded awful!!!

you can get it on ebay. theres a pic with the listing and it looks like one of those HK discs you might have seen with the sleeve and disc inside clear selophane packet for a display stand and the size of the inlay looks like a cd more than dvd : that said, who has a really good knowledge of thai dvds?

Not a bootleg... as I own it and the picture quality is great!!

Anamorphic widescreen to boot also!!

The English dub is not bad at all compared to the horrible subs that were on the Korean one... It is also dubbed into the Thia language and includes English subs....

there isn't some website devoted to this movie that gives translations is there? I don't feel like shelling out more money for this movie when I am way way happy with the French 2 disc I bought when I was in Paris over the summer.

there isn't that much dialogue, so I just want to know what key pieces of dialogue I might be missing.

Ditto on all points.

The dubbing isn't bad. In fact, for a movie like this, dubbing might be a good thing since you don't miss the action and visuals while you're reading the subs.

Not that much dialogue either.

Finally, I picked mine up from eThaiCD.com...for $7.50 shipped! Had it in less than a week from Thailand. Great bargain.

for some reason....I feel that this fine film must be heard in it's original form. it just adds something to it for me...I dunno. I'll pass on the dub versions. yeah...the French disc is awesome.

Thanks for all the help.

I was just trying to find a copy that might have subs for a friend of mine. She had seen the 2 disc that I bought while I was in Paris over the summer and fell in love with the movie.

Will agree with gutwrencher, the 2 disc looks great. anamorphic widescreen right? because the disc just looks beautiful, and the visual style definately gets 2 thumbs up.

I got mine from eThaicd.com today - thought I'd take the chance for only $7.50. I notice, however, that eThaicd.com no longer exists.

I'm fairly certain I know the answer, but thought I'd ask: does the excellent French disc have English subs?

For that matter, is there an acceptable disc anywhere with the original soundtrack and English subs?

Well, I watched this last night and I have to say it is a very well-made tense slasher/horror flick with an amazing, confusing plot twist toward the end. For only $7.50 it is a steal. The english dub really isn't bad and the dialogue isn't the main thing in this film anyway. Get it!
