my sassy girl DVD on ebay region free?
i've been interested in seeing the korean comedy My Sassy Girl but haven't been able to due to the DVDs being region-3. there are now a bunch of DVDs on ebay that claim to be region free. anyone have any info on these discs?

this version seems to be made by a different manufacturer. Says it's be Zoke Video in China.
they claim it's not a bootleg.
just wondering if it's indeed region free. plus if the quality is just as good as the versions distributed in hong kong and in korea.

i've bought from foreign-movie-buff before and they claim their copies are 100% authentic, and I have never had a problem with them. All their releases are the real deal.
Don't worry, it is a legit copy from China
These are the features:
Introduction to the film by director Kwak Jae Yong and star Cha Tae Hyun
I Believe music video
Photo Album
Theatrical Trailer
Subtitles:Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional and English
Picture format:1.85:1 Anamorphic NTSC
Korean Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround
I must warn you that this 'Director's Cut' is still not the full director's cut
For that you must go with the Region 3 Korean release

from dvd compare:
The version on this DVD apparently varies slightly from the Director's Cut in that in two scenes and over the credits, it uses the song's used from the Theatrical Cut rather than the different songs that are present on the Director's Cut

Pretty much any Mainland China release is going to be inferior.
Zoke is a legit company, but they do put out bootlegs (especially anime), so you have to be careful. Same can be said for foreign-movie-buff on ebay, who does sell some bootlegs too. You just have to know what you are buying first.

However, currently we have an assertion to the contrary quite early on in the discussion so I have been leaving the thead open.
Do you have anything definitive as to the DVDs legitimacy?

Well, i personally can't confirm the authenticity since I dont have that particular disc.
My last cent i will provide, is that the R3 Korean 2-disc is the best Director's Cut out there
and that is that.
If you can't handle Region 3 then get an all region player

Now, reading those feedbacks, I'd personally be wary of buying from him, but it seems (from them) like your biggest worry would be whether it came or not, not whether it was a bootleg or not.
