Review of Memories of Murder HK Release?

I'm interested in picking this up, but would like to know how it compares to the Korean release in terms of picture quality. The specs look comparable, but I'd really like to know prior to ordering.

If anyone owns it, please let me know. Thanks.

Yeah, I remember that thread. And I remembered that no one had reviewed the HK release... *sigh*

Lacking any reviews of the HK disc, I nonetheless decided to give it a go, rather than pay around $10 more for the Korean, with its second disc I couldn't understand.

Its a good buy!. Both video and sound are great. I would imagine the transfer is pretty much the same as the Korean. You won't be disappointed.

I just picked up the HK release last night on a whim. This one somehow got under my radar. Looking forward to seeing the film.

Got mine on ebay and watched it yesterday - no dts track although it is listed as an option. The 5.1 is fine, though, and this is a really good film.

Cool. Thanks for the info, guys. I'll pick up the HK release then since it's cheaper and the Korean special features would be lost on me.

Thanks again!

that's extremely odd, since the disc I rented from Nicheflix also had the DTS option and was processed as such through my Yamaha receiver.

Might be a bootleg, especially purchased via eBay, especially since the DTS wasn't there, but is present on the one that Giles has.

I got a boot of an Indian DVD a couple of weeks ago. The guy refunded the full amount including shipping.
