Why is it that the word "overkill" popped into my mind....

I would like to hear the commentaries, though.

all i want is the extended cut of matrix 2... if they had extended the other 2, i would have bought them as well.

i vaguely remember that a site in Oz mentioned this a little while ago.

The Matrix trilogy is to be released as part of a special ten-disc DVD boxset in time for Christmas, according to the DVD Times.

Out on December 12 and with an RRP of £44.99, the specs are as follows:

Disc One: The Matrix


All-new transfer supervised by the Wachowskis and director of photography (DP), Bill Pope
Audio commentary by Keanu Reeves, Carrie Anne Moss, Laurence Fishburne, DP Bill Pope and other cast and crew

Disc Two: The Matrix Revisited (180 Minutes)

Same special features as previous release
Offers comprehensive behind-the-scenes look at the first film in the trilogy

Disc Three: Matrix Reloaded Extended Version (190 Minutes)

New cut incorporating 55 minutes of footage shot for the 'Enter The Matrix' game
Audio commentaries by Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Laurence Fishburne, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Production Designer Owen Paterson, 2nd Unit Directors David Ellis and Kimble Rendall and other cast and crew

Disc Four: Matrix Reloaded Revisited - Special Features (180 Minutes)

Includes all new footage including dozens of never-before-seen cast and crew interviews, scene dissections, explorations of the production design and special effects, and more

Disc Five: Matrix Revolutions

Audio commentaries by Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Laurence Fishburne, Special Effects Supervisor, John Gaeta; editor, Zach Staenberg and other cast and crew

I wonder if Japan or Korea will come out with an incredible package for this.

It would be great if they make some elaborate packaging involving a giant Squiddy case a la the Japanese Alien Quadrilogy release.

I'm all over this... almost as good as (in some ways better than) my dream version of the trilogy box set - at least there's as many discs as I wanted. The US version will no doubt be pretty similar. I may opt for the Korean version if the packaging is cool enough and the korean subs aren't burned in on the extras.

I have only the first film so I'll be getting this one without any doubt!

Trigger, keep me posted if you see a Korean version with cool packaging. I'm waiting to purchase this set once I see what other options there are with packaging outside the US.
