Fire and Ice - DVD

I'm looking to purchase the 21 year old animation movie "Fire and Ice". I looked online and have found it Zone 2 only. I was wondering if more than one release of this exist.

I also noticed that it states is 16:9 (1:85)...anyone know if that a zoom and crop job?

Thanks!

I read about this movie being released later in the year in R1... I think Blue Underground is working on it. Their website doesn't mention it, but I'm pretty sure it's them. Hearing that news made me want the movie, but I'll wait for the BU DVD.

The R2 PAL disc is indeed anamorphically enhanced and looks and sounds pretty good

As I recall a discussion about this fiilm in DVD Talk (Region 1), yes, BU is releasing this. I though can't seem to find the thread though.

Thanks guys! I think I might double dip on this one. I sent an email to BU asking if they had any more info on the release date. If they happen to respond, I'll be sure to post any info here.

Anyone have a link to where I can get this? I see it on dvdzone2.com, any other suggestions?

good luck, I've checked HMV, Sendit and Amazon (they have one but at 24 pounds). Looks like it's going out of print

I have it and I think it's region free, either that or it's R2/R4. The Australian disc is identical. You can get it at a decent price over at ezyDVD.

Do you happen to have this? I finally received it, and can't see a way to turn off the subs. Any idea if they're burned?

Thanks,

-JR

I have the R2 PAL disc and there's no burnt in subs on mine. What kind of subs are they, English or what?

Hi Joe,

The subs are listed as "nederlands" on the box, when I hit "subtitle" on my remote, they are listed as "1. Dut". I can't seem to turn them off, and there is no setup option in the dvd itself. It only offers play movie, scene selection, and extras.

Any help would be great.
