Cracker (TV Series) R2 question

I know that 3 season box sets of this Robbie Coltrane show are available in Region 1, but Amazon UK is having a sale where the Complete Series set is available at a much better price. Are there any known quality differences between the two regions?

I don't know about the R1 versions but the quality on the R2 (which I own) is not that great.

On the whole, the discs are absolutely watchable however, they are all no better than what was seen when they were broadcast on PBS in the mid 90's.

Just like all but the latest R2 Prime Suspect discs, they look like TV broadcasts rather than remastered DVD imagery.

I've been debating going this route myself. That Amazon.co.uk price sure is sweet! I've seen one of the R1 disks and I'd pretty much describe that exactly as Buckee does the R2 above.

So quality wise, sounds like a wash...
