Adventures of Tintin
I grew up reading the Tintin comic books by Herge, and I watched the many films based on the comic books as well. I recently found out that they released a box set with all the film, which I will soon acquire. And I thought I should share the knowledge with you guys.
Adventures Of Tintin, The - 75th Anniversary was released by Anchor Bay May 31, 2004. This set includes all the animated adventures of Tintin by Herge.
Amazon.co.uk - Adventues of Tintin
The Scandinavian version has no subs and only uses Norveigan, Swedish, Danish, and Finnish language tracks. But the box is cool.

I was looking for that Anchor Bay set in France, hoping that maybe a Virgin Megastore, or a FNAC would've imported it. But alas nothing

I must say this set is VERY good value for money. I ordered it from Amazon (Cheaper shipping than HMV). It is superbly packed and the ultraslim individual dvd cases are classy.
Spend the 22 quid and buy it today!

same for me as well. on the description, it has it for bp14.99 but in the basket, it has it for the regular price.
never mind. hmv wants to charge me 15 quid for shipping... making it more expensive than going thru amazon even w/ the sale price.

I have read a few places that Tintin (books and movies) seem to be a big inspiration on Wes Anderson. Any opinions on that? I just downloaded all the books (I never knew it was a comic) and am plowing through them, and might have to order this having only seen one or two of them waaaay in the past.

Does anyone know what the OAR of these shows are? I've seen them on Australian TV as 16:9 ( I couldn't see any cropping or stretching) but my UK Boxset is 4:3. I'd hate to think I missed out or something.

Bought it when I was in the UK for about 16 pounds. Which is about $40 Australian. That's including shipping. The Australian version seems to have different packaging though. Looks like it's a foldout digipak, slimmer than the UK version which has a moulded cardboard cover (Like the region 1 LOTR EE) and 10 slim cases inside.

I just picked up 5 Tintin DVD's at Walmart.
They are:
1 - Destination Moon / Exploreres on the Moon
2 - Land of the Black Gold / Flight 714
3 - The Black Island / King Ottokar's Sceptre
4 - The Seven Crystal Balls / Prisoners of the Sun
5 - The Shooting Star / The Broken Ear
I got them for $10 each.
There's a cardboard slipcover in french with an amaray case inside. The cover for the case is in french but with english on the reverse. The spine on the slipcovers join together to show a picture of Tintin running.
The best thing, though is that the audio is both in English and French.
Small booklet inside states that the remaining DVD's will be released on Sept 13th as follows:
6 - The Crab with the Golden Claws / Tintin in Tibet
7 - The Blue Lotus / The Calculus Affair
8 - Cigars of the Pharaoh / The Red Sea Sharks
9 - The Secret of the Unicorn / Red Rackham's Treasure
10 - The Castafiore Emerald / Tintin and the Picaros
