Saw this at a festival in March. It's a great accomplishment for the director which must have been made at great toil and sacrifice. As a film it's a pretty wild ride, too. I hope there are subtitles for the extras on this one.

I'm not sure if this is off-topic but, even though i liked the movie a lot, I wouldn't recommend this as a blind buy.
I think the pace of the movie is not for everyone. but that's just my opinion

We have taken a look at the July 27th UK release of the Brazilian prison drama Carandiru here.
Snippet:
Carandiru won’t be a film for everyone, some may find the somewhat free flowing structure problematic. Indeed I did, on my first watch. Whilst the sequence involving the riot and subsequent massacre contain some of its best material, it’s best not to think of it as a movie about the riot, but as one about prison life in general. It is an excellent movie, convincingly acted, sensitively directed and is well worth your time.
