Well, the trippy visuals while they smoke peyote are reminiscent of some of Moebius' more out there work. I think Moebius has gone on record as approving of the film. And in my opinion it is a fascinating failure.

Great. Another title that is going to be selling for obscenely high prices on ebay in a couple of months.

Only to be nearly worthless a few months after that when the uber-deluxe triple disc American version is announced.

SHIT! I had a chance to pick up all the Moebius collected comic books for like $2 each and I didn't... Now I'm regretting it!!!

Did this come out yet, im dying to hear some reviews from the people here.

I got mine. I've only watched the first half, and my initial feelings are that it is "El Topo-lite". That is, it really wants to be mystical and spirtual, but I'm afraid there is too much MTV and not enough soul in it to work.

It's not a bad movie, its just not a very good movie.

I just saw a coming soon box on the top and clicked it, apparently Blueberry is hitting video here soon under the title RENEGADE, funny how they doctored the poster and put Honsou on the box. Here's the Amazon link

I watched this the other night. Not a bad movie but it is a bit slow. Thomas is right about the mystical part, it tries but never really gets there until the end, and then its a bit too late. While I didn't feel like it was a complete waste of time, replay value is extremelly low.

What is this movie El Topo? Is it available on DVD?
