The Killer (Anamorphic) SE Opinions?

Was just wondering if anyone has checked out the anamorphic Special Edition of The Killer. It is Region 0 PAL disc. Just wondering. CDWow has it for 13 bucks. Includes:

Anamorphic Widescreen; Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround; Remastered & Restored Audio & Video; Audio Commentary By Bey Logan; Trailers; Interviews; Rare Deleted Scenes

It's a very nice set. Here are some reviews of it:

Region 0? I thought that disk was region 2. I have it. The commentary is very good, the deleted scenes are interesting. I haven't heard the 5.1 mix but I heard it's overdone.

If you can wait a month or so, IVL is releasing Bullet in the Head and The Killer. It'll be anamorphic and probably have a DTS track.

I'm very happy with my copy of The Killer. If you like the film, definetily buy it. I do think it's region 2 though.

Yep, good DVD. Having owned the Criterion & the Fox/Lorber DVDs, this SE easily sports the best picture & audio.

Yeah, region 2. $13 is a damn good price as the R1 alternative is over $100 and is not even anamorphic.

Don't you have a all-region player? You did have all those foreign DVDs up for sale...

That's all great news, but will there be english subs? If so, kick ass!

Of course I do. But my response was just stating what CDwow had listed. Nothing more, nothing less.

IVL is a Hong Kong company. They're they ones that are release all the Shaw Brothers movies. They'll have English subs, I'm almost sure of it. I'm less sure about the DTS track, though. I'm assuming that because Japan just got a 4-disk box set with the 3 A Better Tomorrow movies and the Killer, all with DTS tracks. The Korean ABT set has a DTS track. The Korean Bruce Lee set also has DTS tracks and the IVL Bruce Lee set is just about the same as the Korean set. It's kind of a longshot, but I would assume the upcoming IVL sets have DTS tracks.

the recent japanese and korean box sets of A Better Tomorrow trilogy and The Killer are all from Fortune Star's recent high definition remasters. therefore, it's pretty much the same.
