Well, it looks like the Thai version is cut!

http://www.ethaicd.com/show.php?pid=13286

They took off their description on this site too:

http://www.dvdfromasia.com/

So, the Japanese DVD was the only way to see the color version. Anybody cancel their order for the Thai discs yet?

I knew that dvdfromasia was gouging people charging $25, but then to have false information about the DVD being uncut for the pre-sale, that's just too much!

Has anyone actually received the Thai DVD?

I received mine from Amazon Japan and did not have the suit. I chose the cheapest shipping. The box is good quality but the bear and other items are really worth nothing. Not too impressed.

Edit: So I watched the movie and I am reserving my judgment until I watch it awgain. Sometimes with movies I need to watch them twice to tell if I love it, like it or hate it. Right now I like it. The sound is F'n fantastic though.

So the Japanese R2 is the only uncut version that will be released?

I'm pretty happy with the DVD ... the extra features are neat (lots of very cool sketches from Production IG), and the making of Blue Leaves is sort of in English It complements the R1 dvd rather nicely, although I'm sure both will be put to shame with the SE comes out.

Have not received my order yet for this, but there may still be hope. Although I am not optimistic now that the DVD has been removed from the site.

It was mentioned that there were three Thai versions out. A pal cut version, a pal uncut version and an uncut NTSC version. Needless to say, I will be far from pleased if I receive a cut version. However, I am not going to get upset yet until I get the disc...

If there are already commentary tracks like these recorded, I'm sure they will be on the eventual US special edition. Those tracks seem to be the only major difference with this Dutch set, and since I already bought the US and Japanese discs, I guess I can be patient and wait for a US SE in order to hear the commentaries.

Since this version is PAL encoded, the movie must be uncut, figuring for 4% speedup. Also, with shipping, this version is less than $30. cultshock, you could always sell the R2 jp version and use it to get this one... I saw a copy on ebay go for $52.

Not sure about any coupon codes... but i'm going to start looking.
Shipping is 6 euros ($7.10 US) for one item. If you buy another DVD from them, shipping is reduced to 3.95 euros. The SE costs $29.58 shipped, though I wonder if another Dutch retailer has it for less...

If you find a lower price, be sure to post it here. I've got to get my hands on this one, but I'd rather not pay $30 for it. I wish that I could trade them something for a copy, lol.

Hmmm, first, I'm kind of skeptical that this DVD would be the same as the Japanese cut. I believe that all of Europe saw the same version theatrically as the US did, so I'm assuming that this DVD would contain the same US cut (nothing about the listing says that the Dutch DVD will be uncut). As for the running time descrepency, DVD sites get running times wrong all the time, so who knows?

Anyway, I'm one of those people who really notices PAL speed up, so I try not to get any English language PAL DVDs unless I have to.

Besides, I love my Japanese DVD, and I ain't getting rid of it.: Anyway, you guys can get this, and I'll envy you for getting to hear the commentaries early, but I'm just gonna wait.

The Dutch are noted for releasing films uncut that are cut everywhere else... but, then again, you can never be sure. I'm not fond of PAL DVDs either, but if it's the only way...

If anyone confirms this version is cut, i'll probably pass and just get the Japanese disk...

Thats true, I've got many uncut Dutch DVDs/VHS over the years. I'm just assuming that the Netherlands saw the same theatrical version as the rest of Europe (can anyone verify this?) so am expecting their DVD release to be the same. The Netherlands usually releases uncut stuff because censorship is almost non-existant there, so I just think that the only reason they don't have the uncut Kill Bill is because Miramax didn't offer them that version. QT seemed to want to reserve that version for Asian audiences only. If anyone buys the Dutch disc though, please let us know, and also let us know how the commentaries are. I have to admit, I'm curious.

Oh wow, if this wasn't PAL I would've ordered this disc right now. But my hatred for the speedup will prevent me from doing so even with this being Kill Bill. Since I've probably seen the movie 30 times, it will stand out that much more. I'll have to wait for the U.S. SE that will most likely have these commentaries. If it turns out that they won't show up anywhere else (unlikely), then I wil pick this up. I'll have to suffer with my R2 jap disc for now.
