I prefer to believe people who actually live in PAL countries (and listen to NTSC material too) but I'm willing to look at your facts.

The R2 has much better art/cover/box/insert than the upcoming R1, if that sort of thing matters to you.

Dude...listen to the same material on NTSC and PAL. The only one I could give you would be the theme to Will and Grace as that's the only PAL discs I own. I got rid of all the other ones beacuse I couldn't stand the speed-up. You're fighting a lost cause.

LOOK AT THE RUNNING TIME OF ANY PAL VERSION OF A MOVIE. You think it was edited? PAL movies are ALWAYS shorter. It's all about the frames per second. Do a little research and then come back to the boards.

And be careful, the last guy who entered into this debate used the same "Iraqui" comparison. He was banned. Don't start.

Don't some of the people (especially that woman with the big hair) speak with a high pitch anyway? I'm not sure how PAL could make her voice any higher. So this is your only example and this makes you a specialist in this area?

No, there's is a speedup, but it can't be heard in my opinion.

I also have 400 NTSC discs so I can compare.

FYI...you admit there's a speed-up. But since YOU don't hear it, that means it doesn't exist. No one will ever force you to hear it as much as some people are just tone deaf. They'll never be able to tell differences in pitch or notes. Therefore, there's no point in debating this.

Daniel Windsor, you've said that you've researched past threads on this topic which means you know that silly arguments along the above lines are not something most of us wish to see. It has all been done before and gung ho "arguments" from any quarter are unwelcome. Please be careful, people, as there may well be collateral damage.
