Moorqueen

I recently purchased the Region 2 DVD of Angel Season 4, I'm in US, and am getting unsatisfactory results with it. I know I'm using a cheapie modified Cyberhome 300 but when it's set to display PAL, everything is in black and white and there is a large black bar on top but none on bottom. It only displays color when on NTSC mode, which I wouldn't think it would work at all in. And the picture when in NTSC is all squishy. These episodes are in widescreen but I can't imagine everyone in the UK has a 16:9 set. I tried changing the aspect ratios in the dvd menu but to no avail. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Did you set the dvd player to output to 4:3 letterbox? If you did and it still doesn't look right your player just might not convert anamorphic PAL correctly.
