i ordered this dvd a little while back and also have the region 1 release. The menu right away on region 3 is better. Same opitions thoughout the dvd (extras)

Video quality is just about on par as the region 1 release. Colors and sharpness looked to be the same. (based on my philips 27' using component vid)

Audio quality is MUCH better do to the DTS track included. DTS has a MUCH better audio is the bass department and worth the cash. Since retail region 1 was just about the same price as the retail region 3 so grabbing r3 was a no brainer.

I'll agree with Slowpc. I saw the R1 a while ago, but when I saw the R3 this week, I was blown away by the DTS track. It seemed much better than what I remembered from the R1 release. I saw both movies on 2 completely different TVs with different get-ups so I can't comment about the picture quality.

Can you specify which country in R3? There are about 2 dozen countries in R3 you know...

I just received the Korean R3 version, and I have to agree with the previous posters. I'd say the video quality is MAYBE a shade worse than the R1 version, but the DTS track is GREAT. Definitely worth picking this one up if you're a fan of the movie.

This is making me want to dump my R1 for the R3 release.

I will attest that the R3 kicks much ass.
