CD-WOW raises its prices 20-30% !
I'm suprised no one has noticed.
CD-WOW raised its USA dollar prices on the cd-wow.net anywhere from 20 to 30% !!
That's too bad. I order on average of 2-3 CD's and DVD's from that wonderful site. Now I'll probably only order if their prices are lower than the domestic merchants.
I emailed them.. their reply was that European customers were ordering from the USA site and costing them money.
Huh?

Yeah. I ordered a lot through the US site - e.g. the same DVD cost 14,95$ @ the US site and 14,95€ @ the european site. Because of 1$ being sth about 0.80€ and less it was really a difference.

What if you order from other versions of the site?
I usually order from the site that displays Honk Kong dollars. Why? because with the conversion rate, it's usually cheaper, a lot of the time even cheaper than the US site with the mastercard discount.

But it was buried in my complaint about Infernal Affairs III, which I have still not heard back about. Funny, because they're usually really quick. It looks like the increase is across all their sites, even HK. Unless prices change (lowered), my business with them is done. Prices go up, customer service goes down...yep, seen that before.

Underworld DTS is still 12.95 at least! As are some of the ones that were that price previously.
I am shocked though. How the hell can they expect to sell R1 titles (not that I would buy them there) for 26.95?

This bites. I was about to order the Hitcher SE about two weeks ago and put it off. It had dropped to $18.95 and now it is $23.95 with the $1 link. Still, with free shipping it is competitive. I guess they couldn't afford to ship internationally at that price anymore...

CD-wow are really popular in the UK and unfortunately for them we have all spotted the differences in the prices between the different sites because of fluctuating exchange rates. Not surprisingly we have started to place our orders with whichever site has the best price. I suspect that the com site was subsidising the net site as I am sure postage from HK to the UK or the US doesn't differ much. Unless of course US customers get their discs shipped from somewhere else!
