Wow, that's pretty weak if CD-WOW did a switcheroo on the fight specs without notifying people before shipping it out.

You can always return the DVD to CD-WOW becasue it is not the R2J version per the description. CD-WOW will refund the return shipping too.

It has been confirmed that R3HK used the same master with R1

This is what the R3HK version looks like:

Some will say it isn't since it is PAL.

Also, you should hope it is uncut...as you saw with the HK version, it was stated it was but it is not.

EDIT: Okay it's been sent out today by CDWow! We'll know by next week which version it really is.
I'm just going to wait a few days until mrhan gives us the low down on the movie. If it's the R1 version of the film, i'll probably hold off until the R1 box set comes out.

I see a huge red flag when I see this site offering 2 versions of Kill Bill... I haven't heard of any countries that is releasing 2 versions of Kill Bill.

Besides, even if Thailand is releasing 2 versions of Kill BIll, I believe that spending $30 on a R3 Thai DVD is much less sensible than spending $40 on a R2J DVD.

Kindest Regards

and even less sense buying the cut up R1 version at any price

Like I said in the beginning..
if you want it uncut under 30 then Thai is the way to go..if you dont mind spending more then yes the Japanese version is best

I hope that you can clarify everything for us when you get your order.

However, I am even more confused and alarmed as this "Philippe" from DVDfromAsia is claiming that there are already 3 versions released in Thailand...

Pal Cut version,
Pal Uncut version,
NTSC Uncut version...

Ill post about whatever shows up..it would be whole lot easier if they just released the damn uncut one here in the States but then again there would be no fun in that

But then I would lose the incentive to buy that region-free, macrovision-free, NTSC/PAL, play-anything machine. It was Kill Bill R2/R3 that pushed me over the fence.

Is the R2Japan version available at AmazonJapan? Is it the best version to get, other than the box set?

Yes, the regular edition is available there. I think that it is the best one to get, as it should have the Asian version of the film (apparently unlike the HK disc) and seems to have a couple extras not available on other versions (eg. the anime "making of" doc).

i am so way confused now..i have the R1..we all know what that is about.

I am getting the R2 LE Japanese Box Set from Amazon. Questions...Yes or No would be wonderful, with maybe some explanation if you desire.

1. This version is uncut, with more violence?

2. The House of Blue Leaves scene is in full color?

3. This has the slightly extended anime sequence?

4. Are there English subtitles for the Japanese language parts?

5. This is best version to get in terms of:
a. visual?
b. audio?
c. extras?
d. length of scenes mentioned above and/or other?

That is all I want to know. Thanks so much.

The answer to your first three questions is yes. Even though the Japanese disc will have English subtitles you will either have to leave them on for the whole movie or manually turn them on from your dvd player remote during the Japanese speaking parts. You won't be able to just have them come on automatically for just the Japanese speaking parts like they do on the Region 1. I don't know how the audio/video will stack up but I would expect it to be at least as good as the Region 1.

At least as good... I'm betting it'll be slightly better on the R2J release.

2. The House of Blue Leaves scene is in full color? Yes

3. This has the slightly extended anime sequence? Yes

4. Are there English subtitles for the Japanese language parts? Yes & No - English sub for either the WHOLE film or NONE at all.

5. This is best version to get in terms of:
a. visual? Probably the same
b. audio? same
c. extras? Yes - a couple more extras
d. length of scenes mentioned above and/or other? Only about 2 minutes worth of scenes

Every listing I've seen for the R2 Japanese disc shows that it will have a DTS track.
