Question about remote hacking DVD players
I just found a remote hack for my Oritron DVD player and I was just wondering since the code worked and it changed the region to ALL (what it said on the screen), do I have to keep doing this every time I turn it on, or doing it once permanently makes it an all region (its already a pal/ntsc converter)

Wouldn't turning it off, then turning it on and inserting a non-region 1 DVD into the machine answer your question? If it doesn't play, then you need to do the hack every time.
That's one of the things that I like about the Philips 727 - I did the remote hack the first day, and haven't had to ever do anything further to play all regions.

sorry, I didn't think we had any non region 1/non ntsc discs in the house.
sure enough my dad had a Shadows Live DVD, that I found was Region 2 PAL, it played it in black and white, so thumbs up to the region coding working, thumbs down to the player not doing the ntsc/pal conversion right
