well they did make an announcement on Nov 18 on their site (in the "Today's New" section) which sounds like could be your problem:
Nov 18 Announcement :-
We enhance security and changed our online payment system through DBS Bank Hong Kong
Ltd/eNets Credit, all customers credit card details will be directly to the Visa/MasterCard/Banks
payment gateway with SSL 128 bits encrypted, it also available for holder of VERTIFY BY VISA
too. After order submitted, it cannot be cancelled or modified amount exceed the orginal debited
amount, but it can be modified amount lower than the orginal debited amount.

They have an awful website but I hope the improvements are for the better because their prices can't be beat...
At least their search has actually been working correctly for a while now

I got a reply back from them. It appears that there is some sort of problem using Visa through the payment gateway. He advised me to use a Mastercard until they can get the problem resolved.

Hmm, I think the website is okay. Could be better, but it works well enough.
Maybe with them using this new DBS Bank HK will clear up my problem I've had in dealing with them.
Only problems I ever had was that my credit card company's security watchdog software would always throw up a flag and block transactions from LTD Haus. Inc. (place ddd used to run transactions through). (basically, this would lock my credit card acct. so that no further transactions could be processed)
Then 3 days later I would get an email from dddhouse saying the charges were denied, then I'd have to call my CC company and explain to them that it was legitimate, they would unlock my account. Then I'd email dddhouse back and have them re-run the charge on my CC.
Had to do this every time... pain in the rear... Not dddhouse fault though.
Cheers,
Gabe

I placed an order successfully last week using their new checkout system. I also ordered from Layoyo last week, but IIRC this is what happened at DDDHouse:
1. when electing to checkout/pay I was transferred to their new third party CC processor.
2. I entered all my info (I don't recall selecting type of card either, just number and exp date)
3. when it was processing a new window popped up telling me "not to touch any button" (if you are running a blocker maybe it is interfering with this?)
4. After a fairly long wait (20 seconds or so) my original window running in the background changed.
5. the new screen for me may have been related to my CC company(BoA), but it offered to register me for some security comfirmation and appeared to be linked directly to their (BoA's)site. I declined this after I finally determined it was just an offer.
6. Finally I recieved the payment comfirmation number. it may have been in the pop-up window.
The multiple windows and security offer were very confusing, but everything worked and I have already received my shipping confirmation.

Is you cc a Visa or Mastercard? I got the popup window as well. When I got the error, there was an error in both the popup window as well as the original window in the background. I have a Mastercard, so I'll give that a try. The only thing is, they are saying the problem is cards that use Verified by Visa. I don't think I have that on my card, and actually, I was using a single-use number that I generate for my card.

checked my transactions. it was actually a VISA debitcard (odd, I must have grabbed the wrong one)and I have not signed up for any special secuity verification, although as I posted earlier I was offered this feature during processing for some reason. Good luck. I love DDDHouse but if you can't get it to work you could check out Layoyo for HK titles. I had a great purchase experience with them too.
editted to reflect debit card use

Has DDDHouse gone under??
Has the Hong Kong DVD site DDDHouse gone out of business? Everytime I check out their site I get a dead link.
I know Coolashop is also out of business, so are there any other english text (reasonably priced) Hong Kong based DVD sites left?

I've placed two orders with DDDHouse in the past month and received both of them promptly - the most recent was placed on December 23, and I received the order here in NYC on January 2.

Repeat customers receive a 10% discount and they also have 2-3 periods a year when they offer a 15% discount.
They also charge from the US in US $ saving customers currency conversion fees.
These factors usually bring their prices in line with DDDhouse although I advise comparing prices first as DDDhouse will still frequently be lower.

www.Layoyo.com is cheaper than both dddhouse and hivizone, and is the main site I use for ordering HK DVDs.

before you make a blanket statement like that you need to compare the bottom lines. Layoyo has a lot of DVDs cheaper than DDDHouse but shipping is way more expensive, and they also have DVDs that are more expensive. And you have to factor in things like customer service and questionable return policy.

DDDHouse is still working for me...just received a 9 disc order yesterday. No problems.
I do price comparisons with most of the sites mentioned in this forum before I place an order (I've bookmarked about 15 sites). Sure, sometimes I will split an order between two retailers in order to get the best deal (less often though, since Coola is no longer an option), but most always I find that DDD House has the best overall deal for HK discs. YesAsia for Korean.

Couldn't get in either today... their site has been very quirky ever since it was redone some months back, so I think (and hope) that we're simply experiencing "technical difficulties".
