British Independent Films - Help?
I'm studying abroad in London this coming summer, and plan to apply for an internship with the Raindance Independent Film Festival over there through my school. However, my knowledge of British independent film spans all of about "Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels," and "The Full Monty." Regardless of Region, although R1 would be easiest to deal with, does anyone have any suggestions of where to start a brief overview of some of the better British Independent Films of late? I'm guessing most will be from the different region, so I decided to post this in here. Thanks in advance for the help!

The Full Monty
Those are not 'independent' films by any stretch of the imagination.
When I think independent in the USA I think of some great films. As there's no studio system in the UK and most films are tied to UK government lottery funding or a few US studios there's nothing in the independent sector (except porn of course).
