... and type Sony NC615 in the search box. You'll see a number of posts discussing this, although they recommend European places where upgrade remotes etc. can be had. At least it might give you an idea, and you might be able to find somewhere in CA that can help do this...

Thanks. The upgrade remote sound intriguing but it is very expensive and only a rental. Also, these are refering to modifying a R2 Player and I'm not sure if it would even work. I'll keep looking to see if there is someone performing a similar service in Southern California. Barring that, I'll stick with my R1 player for now as it is less than a year old.
