There is either a PCM stereo track that you are listening to or the DD is being downconverted to PCM by your DVDp. (and then sent through the DAC to the analog outputs) This conversion is part of the DVD standard for players so DVDs can be played on regular TV speakers. DTS is not part of that standard and is not downconverted by most players, it would have to have a DTS decoder inside.

Is there any difference between the 727 and the 727AT? Was wondering if the 727 hack would work on the AT, which is carried at a local store here.

Thanks in advance!

I looked at the spec sheets for both and could not see any differences between them.

The remote hack works on the AT model.

I haven't had a problems. I ordered the 727 a few weeks ago, my first region free DVD player & it's the best & worste thing I ever bought. Worste, b/c I my dvd buying habit was out of hand just in our country, now that I have access to DVDs all over the world it's insane But so far I've played several vcds on it & all have been fine.

I have the AT model and it has the same multi angle icon problem (which really doesn't bother me much).
