The Eye

Hey everyone, hope i'm not covering a previous topic, but I couldn't seem to search on the Eye. Its under the min character limit.

ANyway, thinking of getting this. Any opinions on the two version available, one is the UK Tartan edition, and the other is a Korean zone 3.

Would be interesting in opinions.

Thanks

Jim

the R1 is out soon and may well be the best version yet, as the others all have flaws, UK version poor sound, HK version not anamophic widescreen. R1 version may be best of all worlds, fingers crossed.

ah, thanks for the update. Thats what I thought I remember reading. I'll wait and see what the zone 1 has to offer. I've noticed that many tarten and other UK production is pretty horrible in the sound department which is why I was suspect of this release.

The R3 might be very good to get going on track record of Korean dvd's, most are excellent quality.

I have the r3, and while you're watching it, you're thinking to yourself "man, this could look so much better".

Oh well, it does the job.

Have you seen my report card?

No date yet on the R1 release from Palm Pictures, but I've held off buying it, hoping the R1 is the definitive version. In case anyone's interested, here's the site:

I saw October 28, 2003 somewhere and noted it a couple of weeks ago, but forgot--both where I saw it and to mention it above. Dunno how accurate that date is though.

I just read that Tom Cruise bought the American Rights to it. I've been holding off for the U.S. release too, but everytime one of these great foriegn films get picked up over here, i get bad feelings. I guess bad things doesn't always happen. Parasite Eve still got released and i think Madonna bought the rights to that. I just rented the all region disc(i was told that was a legit copy and not a boot, so if it is a boot, mods i apologize for mentioning it).
