Death Wish 2 finally!! In Widescreen but..
Anyone know which cut of the movie this actually is?? There have been several released and am wondering. I tried the BBC film board but they didn't have the DVD listed.

Your best bet appears to the R4 Brazilian disc, which is supposed to have the rape scene intact. Supposedly all that is missing is a few minutes of dialogue which has only ever appeared on Greek video releases, and so seems rather spurious in its necessity, anyway.

If the rape scene is cut that is fine with me...if was very graphic and hard to watch anyway.
Is the Brazilian DVD widescreen?

The running time here says 88 min... Black Star has it list at 85 min. Is this a different cut?? Man I sure would like to find out..

OK, finally got the R4 Brazilian version of Death Wish 2. It is open matte. There is an abundance of head and leg room in each shot. I also compared it to the VHS and there is at least 2" of extra footage on each side that was cut off in the VHS version and not as much above and below as in the DVD.
The zoom feature on the Malata make it a snap to make it widescreen and cut off the upper and lower areas that add nothing to the picture.
The picture is very sharp and clear, a good transfer, have not watched the whole DVD yet just compared it to the VHS.
So if anyone is holding off getting it, because it not being widescreen don't.
Hope this helps anyone finally make the decision to get it or not.
