Here's a list of all of the Asian DVDs that CD-WOW carries. As of early 2004 their prices have rocketed up to 20-30%, depending on which site you order from. However it looks like some of their sites have gotten back to normal, and it looks like the HK site still has the best conversion rate for US customers for some DVDs. However, many DVDs are a few bucks cheaper if you use the £1 coupon at the UK site. Go to this thread or just click on this link to get £1 off each DVD you order from the UK site. When you check out and give them your credit card information, make sure you choose the option to pay in US$, as you'll get a better rate that way.

The prices listed below are from the HK site, and they are in HK dollars which is roughly 7.75 HKD to every USD $1.

I really wish they'd fix their search engine. I looked up "Shaw" and came up with just 3/4 of the Shaw Bros. titles that I listed, even though all of them have Shaw in their title.

I'm pretty sure the UK version will be cut. The BBFC haven't given it a video classification yet (or if they have it's not in their online database yet), but given that they cut three minutes from the theatrical release back in November I suspect there's no way the DVD will be uncut.

But if you just want it for the special features (I don't know how it compares to the Dutch disc in terms of extras), knock yourself out.

I'm pretty sure the film IS edited but, as I said, I've got the uncut version to compensate for this. I'm just a sucker for HKL (or Premier Asia in this case). Some people strive for a complete collection of Criterions, I go for HKL.

I think you mean Project A, the Jackie Chan classic. Project AKO was a spoof on the anime industry.

They must have listed Project A very recently. And I just picked this up from HKL direct last month. Doh!

I ordered Heroes Two :Shaw Brothers 4 days ago, now it disappeared.

$16.95 for project-A is a good price. I paid $14.99 at HKL. Hope they will carry more HKL titles.

Btw for people who have received the DVD from them, does the disc normally loose from the case? I got 5 DVDs, and three of them are scratched.

I've never gotten a damaged/loose DVD from them. But I'm sure it happens.

BTW, is that HKL price with the extra cost of shipping added?

I got Project A from HKL as well but paid 12.99 in UK pounds not US dollars so it actually cost me about $20 US + shipping costs.

Of all the DVDs I've received from them I've had 1 or 2 that were loose and attribute it to handling over the international delivery and not anything that CD Wow does.

I've also received one damaged DVD case which they replaced for free. The disc was fine, I just needed a new case.

Also the HK DVD for Zhou Yu's train is up at 8.99 pounds, Spirited away (R3 2-disc) for 9.99 - also, I believe most (all?) of the titles mentioned so far can be found in their "asian" category: http://www6.cd-wow.com/browse_catego...?category=3030 (not necessarily all R3 or HKL-only, but they do mention the region in the list). That is funny indeed ... their HK-$ site (.com.hk) and their Euro site (.de) do not have that category either. But I guess you can browse their site in its UK pound incarnation & then get the titles in whatever currency you prefer ... or do they stock different items for their various sites?
