Can anyone comment on the R2 Superbits?

I'm looking at Benson's World and I see that they have a lot of Superbits on sale now for about $13-16 US. I was wondering how they stack up to the R1 counterparts. The ones that I'm looking at in particular are the ones that aren't out in the US (Bone collector, Godzilla). Thanks in advance.

I have the Bone Collector R2 Superbit release and it's a high quality disc. Nice transfer and great soundtrack. I can recommend it.

Apparently the french R2 of Godzilla has excessive vertical filtering - basically negating the 20% resolution bonus of PAL, but the horizontal res definitely beat the US non-superbit release. I don't know if the UK R2 Godzilla is the same as the French one or not.

Thanks for pointing this out, Civic!

A couple of them are not as appealing as in the US they are Superbit Deluxe with two discs, like the Patriot. However, they are all cheaper than I can find their US counterparts!

I'm tempted by Bram Stoker's Dracula, partly because I prefer the artwork to the boring R1 "gargoyle."

Those of you who own one - do the R2 discs have slipcovers like their R1 counterparts?

New R2 (Jap. NTSC) Superbits coming in May:

Bone Collector

Jurassic Park

JP: Lost World

It depends !
I bought Gattaca on the Sony site http://www.cthe.co.uk/superbit/
when superbit were only sold there.
Got an Amaray

Later on when it was available in shops Superbit packaging is still
Amaray but within a cardboard slipcover.

French Superbit are sold with an horrible cardboard packaging.

Thanks, Butch - what's your opinion of the image of the R2 Gattaca? I'm getting tempted....
