French ADOLPHE DVD.
Benoit Jacquot's ADOLPHE starring Isabelle Adjani is coming to DVD on May 28 in France. Any news yet on the specs for the DVD? I read somewhere that Jacquot wanted to include some deleted scenes on the DVD.

what is your source?......Amazon.fr has not announced this yet...

I have been waiting for this one to come out (as well as La Repentie which did but without English subs....so I have to pray now that the British release as we, US, are not going to have...at least that's for sure).....

guys.....the question is ARE THERE SUBS???
Awhile ago a had a thread going on and someone mentioned that it will be getting a Canadian release as it was shown during the Toronto Film Festival......
well the big news is that...I have not heard any news since then...almost 2 months ago.
bjackson....You should check out La Repentie....which everyone was saying was pretty weak...(dont listen to that) and OF COURSE IS NOT AVAILABLE IN R1.
**The French disc has no subs**

I bought the La Repentie DVD when it was released in France. I thought the movie was pretty good. Definitely not as bad as people made it out to be.
I know that Alliance Atlantis in Canada is the international sales representative for Adolphe. However, just because it was shown at the Toronto Film Festival doesn't mean it will get a Canadian release. The film was also shown earlier this month at the Rendez-vous with French Cinema in New York. No word yet on if it was purchased for distribution in the US.

...didn't find either title on the (Canadian) Archambault site (which is where any French movie would surely turn up)...
...fwiw here's a lukewarm review of this barely lukewarm*) movie...

Adolphe is a good film. IMHO not quite as good as Jacquot's best work, Seventh Heaven, but certainly worth seeing. One of the best recent performances from Adjani, no doubt.
La Repentie on the other hand really is terrible -- don't waste your time.

(though as of late DVDFR.com has been rather inconsistent with their info)

Did anyone pick this dvd up?
I had it on pre-order for August 6, then it got pushed to 13th and now it says....the 20th.....
I would love to know if anyone received it...does it have subs? (I have a feeling it does not).......
***
Some French etailers list it as already being out some of them as coming out on the 20th.....

MOON 33....thank you for the news (though rather sad news....) this is the second Adjani film that gets treated rather poorly by the French after La Repentie.
Thank you so much for the info on 17 fois Cecile Cassard. I will be picking it up with my next order.
Do you have any info on 24 heures de la vie d'une femme
...English subs?
The only "possitive" info I have been able to find was this:
http://www.cinesnap.com/detail_film.php?num=33659
....but this MUST be wrong!!! ....
