Irreversible DVD release

Does anyone know if there is a release of this film anywhere right now? I know there are some bootlegs floating around right now, but I want to see if theres a more professional release somewhere out there.

Yes it is..

BUT..i'm wondering..will current anti-french sentiments screw with this release..? [In the US, at least..]

Thanx for all the replies and snide comments, I appreciate it. And for your information I did do a search and it gave me nothing. Anyway, if Lionsgate is releasing this in June, the chances of a theatrical release are slim to nil I suppose. Is it confirmed that it is the unedited version? I felt that Lion's Gate dropped the ball with Rules of Attraction and Monster's Ball (although they did go back and fix it, lousey double dip), hoping it doesnt happen again.

US DVD release

DVD will be released here in a few months through Lion's Gate, as uncut as everywhere else as per the director's wishes.

Oh, I agree..but you know how the media/Hollywood can be at times..

I read one Monica interview [I think it was in the NY Post this past weekend] where she theorized that she was told not to discuss Irreversible due to the current anti-french climate..

ok....first comes first....LionsGate is one of the few studios out there actually that DARES TO PUT MOVIES NO ONE ELSE wants us to see. Obvious example the Nazi controversial drama:

THE BELIEVER (which has been out in Europe for awhile)

SEX AND LUCIA (unedited)

that should give you some answers as far as IRREVERSIBLE.

As far as the second "remark"....

...there's more of a...an anti-American sentiment in Europe (most notably France and Germany NOT Spain)...so let's get this right.

...and French cinema has nothing to do in this case with politics (really?????)!!
With that said I will support any action we, the US, undertake, even if in general I diasagree with the president!!

FYI..your statement about the state of the world and "anti-American sentiment" has nothing to do with the possible situation that I mentioned..

..and I really don't need to be told that French cinema has nothing to do with politics..I never said it did..but it wouldn't be the first time that politics has seeped into Hollywood..

..here's an EXAMPLE in case you forgot..

If anyone sees this in a U.S. theater, please post and tell what kind of a reaction the film drew from the crowd. I'd be interested to find out what happened. I saw the film at a film festival midnight screening and it think at most there were one or two walkouts. Lots of uncomfortable shifting in seats, though.

I saw it on Wednesday here in NYC (at the Clearview Chelsea). It was the first showing of the day (noon), and there were no walkouts that I noticed. Of course, there were problably under 10 of us there, anyway.

I finally saw it in San Francisco last friday. AMAZING movie. My ideas and beliefs about the boundaries of a camera have been destroyed. I recommend seeing this in a theater if you can. There were 3 walkouts. One very disturbed woman literally falling all over herself trying to get out, one that was able to leave w/o making too much noise, and then a girl who grabed her BF with her as she was leaving(poor guy). Also saw the trailer for Cowboy Bebop the movie, a very pleasant surprise. In any case, Im looking very forward to the DVD and other Gaspar Noe releases.

Yeah, Clearview Chelsea asked for me to show ID, too, which I found rather humorous given my age and appearance. I haven't been ID'd for a film for the better part of a decade.
