Ha! I like how they have printed on the disc the contents of the Hidden Menu.

Cantonese is a Chinese dialect.... ho hum...

I wouldn't mind a cantonese dub on it. But, as people have pointed out to me the original language/dub is Mandarin.

Even so, Tony Leung's voice is dubbed into Mandarin for the movie.

Blah Blah Blah.. Whatever...

So I can watch the movie without reading the subtitles. Not everyone understands Mandarin.

Why not ask for a English track? A dub's a dub.

If the HK disc doesn't have a Cantonese track, it's doubtful any of them will. However, Miramax will most likely provide an English dub when they release the R1 DVD.

Because the Miramax version is months away from being released and I'm looking for an HK version with a Cantonese audio track that's available now.

I take it your not an original soundtrack purist then. I also take it you wouldn't mind an English dub, as long as you don't have to read subtitles.

An English dub on a HK disc is not unheard of. The original CTHD R3 DVD has both Cantonese and English dubs.

However, in the case of HERO, it appears that neither are on the HK DVD. www.dddhouse.com , www.dvdshelf.com , www.hivizone.com , and www.sensasian.com all show Mandarin as the only language track on the recently released R3 2-disc version.

I think Maggie Cheung's voice was dubbed too.
