Originally posted by Rex Anyone know if there's going to be a version of the Hero DVD with a Cantonese audio track? This is a Chinese movie!!! |
Cantonese is a Chinese dialect.... ho hum...
I wouldn't mind a cantonese dub on it. But, as people have pointed out to me the original language/dub is Mandarin. Even so, Tony Leung's voice is dubbed into Mandarin for the movie. Blah Blah Blah.. Whatever... |

Originally posted by Rex So I can watch the movie without reading the subtitles. Not everyone understands Mandarin. If the HK disc doesn't have a Cantonese track, it's doubtful any of them will. However, Miramax will most likely provide an English dub when they release the R1 DVD. |

Originally posted by Rex Because the Miramax version is months away from being released and I'm looking for an HK version with a Cantonese audio track that's available now. An English dub on a HK disc is not unheard of. The original CTHD R3 DVD has both Cantonese and English dubs. However, in the case of HERO, it appears that neither are on the HK DVD. www.dddhouse.com , www.dvdshelf.com , www.hivizone.com , and www.sensasian.com all show Mandarin as the only language track on the recently released R3 2-disc version. |
If anyone's interested the 2-disk edition is available at www.cd-wow.com

there's an english dub on Megastar's "Iron Monkey" dvd.
