I've ordered from Yesasia a number of times and have always been satisfied with them. All of my orders were shipped from San Francisco and usually arrived within a week of ordering if the item was in stock. I live in San Diego, BTW.

Edit: Forgot to say I'm talking about Yesasia. I've never ordered from coolashop.
IMHO, they are really slow and fairly overpriced, but unfortunately they are the only source for a lot of stuff I want (overseas versions of Jpop).
I only use them if I can't get it anywhere else. If I want Japan R2, I go to www.amazon.co.jp. If I want HK, I go to dddhouse or dvdshelf.
Hope this helps.

I've ordered from yesasia numerous times--they're my source for Vicki Zhao items. They shipped from San Francisco for me too. I'm in Los Angeles. They always packed up the items nicely. I've been very happy with them.

I place orders with YesAsia pretty much weekly. They're extremely reliable, their e-mail communication is top notch, and their site is very US-friendly, including Amazon.com-style user reviews and categorizations by region/media/genre. They have decent sales offers which pop up from time to time, but otherwise they are a bit pricier than other places. However, unless you're ordering in bulk, their cheap shipping makes up for it. As opposed to DDDHouse and DVDShelf, they ship from their US offices. You sometimes have to wait for them to source the item from their overseas office, which means total shipping time tends to be about 7 or 8 days, but you pay for regular USPS service instead of Air Mail/EMS. However, for big new releases, they'll often have the items ready to ship. I ordered Hitomi Yaida's new DVD/CD on its release date last Wednesday with regular USPS shipping and had it arrive on Monday.
Their only negative is that their product availability can be a bit strange. They have a ton of uncommon DVDs/CDs/VCDs/memorabilia and yet it's mostly recent stuff. Search for your favorite musician and you'll get a page or two of releases, but only the first few on the list will be available. Or maybe I just order the less popular stuff.
The only incident I've ever had with YesAsia in my 2 years of ordering from them is related to this. A month ago Shena Ringo's new CD single was released, I had it pre-ordered, and it never arrived. I would check my Account Status and it would say "Searching for item from overseas." Last week I e-mailed them about it and they said they should have it by the end of the week. No dice. Yesterday I got an e-mail saying they were unable to source the CD and it was unavailable. Kinda strange.
But other than that, I have nothing but praises to hand them. I tried ordering from DDDHouse once last year and got a Credit Card rejection e-mail from them. Might've just been a glitch or something, dunno, but it was enough to convince me to stick with the reliable YesAsia. I sometimes pay a few bucks more, but I know that once my order is placed, it's in good hands and I'll have the items soon after.

My (limited) experience is that YesAsia had the best price for the DVDs I was looking for. I just placed an order for the following last week:
Tell Me Something: $17.99
Bichunmoo (Korean version): $19.99
Battle Royale SE Director's cut (dts-2disc) (Korean Version): $22.49
Plus FREE shipping!
I realize I might have missed a better price somewhere else, but nowhere else I checked could do better than that.
Right now, I have about 20 Korean DVDs in my YesAsia shopping cart. I can't afford to get all of them right now, but I'll pick them up as I can. Again, my price comparisons lead me to believe they have the best deal.

I recommend not using Yesasia's free shipping. It's the dreaded smart mail. So it takes twice as long as even media mail and stuff is often damaged because it's shipped freight. I'm guessing they put boxes of dvds under boxes of frigdes because they stuff they ship to me via smartmail is damaged. I always fork out for the normal shipping when I order from them now.

You had me worried there, but my package arrived today with no problems. Bubble-wrapped and boxed, Media Mail. This was my first YesAsia order, and I guess I'll give them a thumbs up until they prove they deserve otherwise.

No problems with yesasia - had placed around 6 orders with them prior, and all of them arrived fine (no problems with their free shipping either). Recently just placed my 7th and 8th order with them. Generally, I use them for Korean DVDs, although I recently started looking at them for Japanese R2 DVDs as well (just picked up "Ping Pong").
I like the fact that they ship their items to their US office first before sending it out to me...it eliminates the "what if customs confiscates it" worries I might have when an international order is in transit
. Takes a little longer for me to get my items, but I personally think it's worth the extra time.
Also, it's the only place I know of at the moment to get my Pucca stuff
Used coolashop once, had some problems and never bothered with them again. Could get the same stuff with better service from dddhouse or dvdshelf.

I used Yesasia for 6-7 times, never had any problems. Sometimes, the package comes really fast without sourcing from Asia's suppliers, sometimes it takes a little bit longer to source from suppliers.
All in all, great! but their price is rather high, though.

Yesasia is very good, I've been a customer with them since they were known as asiacd.com.
I've ordered mostly cds from them, and for the most part they are pretty good at shipping them on time, at least they have gotten better.
There service is also pretty good. It's a safe bet with them.

www.dddhouse.com is avery reliable retailer, although admittidly shipping will probably take longer than Yesasia.

i have to agree with most of the posts here, that yesasia.com is a very good e-tailer. I also have been their customer ever since they came online as asiacd.com and ran the e-commerce through yahoo...
anyway, all the stuff i ordered came bubble-wrapped USPS. Also customer service is excellent. I once had a DVD that had some bad tracks in it and emailed the CSR and they sent me a new copy right away, they dont require you to send it to them first and the when they receive it, they send the new one out (at least that was couple years back, dunno if its like that now).
