Is there any info on when this will be rereleased?

I know its oop, but I want a widescreen version.

Also how many God of gambler movies are there.

I did a search and got 4 dif movies. Were any of them prequels?

There's GoG 1 & 2 with Chow Yun Fat, a 3rd without and there's 2 GoG's with Stephen Chow, very funny

There are 3 GoG movies with quite a number of side story movies. Not all of the side stories fit in the whole GoG timeline but you hear them make references to people/events in GoG.

Here is a list of the movies that I remember. There may be more that I've forgotten. The number in front of each title represents the order that i think it follows in the GoG timeline.

God of Gamblers Series:
2 God of Gamblers (Chow Yun Fat, Andy Lau)

Knight of Gamblers Series:

3 All for the Winner (Saint of Gamblers 1 - chinese title) (Stephen Chow)
9 Saint of Gamblers (Saint of Gamblers 2 - chinese title)

5 Top Bet (Queen of Gamblers) (Anita Mui)

a couple of corrections - Stephen Chow's Fist of Fury 1991 has nothing to do with the God of Gambler's series. The only connection is that at the very beginning of the movie, the scene parodies All For the Winner.

All For the Winner is known in Chinese as 'Saint of Gamblers', and Saint of Gamblers is known in Chinese as 'Saing of Gamblers II'. Just to confuse you some more...

finally all the order time line should be shifted up by one number, and the God Of Gamblers 3 The Early Years should be last. Even though it is a prequel, you really need to watch the earlier GoG movies in order to understand the prequel. Confusing, right?

There's supposed to be a widescreen version of the original "God of Gamblers" being released sometime next week in Great Britain.

Yeah.. exactly. It's very confusing. I did say that not all the movies I listed fit in the GoG storyline. I decided to throw Fist of Fury into the list because I vaguely remembered some kind of reference to GoG. It's been a long while since I've seen it and I don't think it's available on DVD.

And out of all of them I really hated Saint of Gamblers 2. I thought the lead character was really annoying.

How would you rate this series?

I just placed an order and it came out to 13.02 euros. Not bad, get it now b4 the price goes up when it gets released.

And I'm pretty sure this release is way better than that meiah with unreadable subs.....

I so love this movie, and I just hope this release is not a waste...
