Songs From The Second Floor, English subtitles?
Does anyone happen to know if the R2 release of this film contains English subtitles?
Has there been any word on a release that does have English subtitles?
I'm very curious to see this movie.
Thanks.

The film is amazing - a masterpiece of imagination and surrealism. I'd LOVE to see it on DVD. It makes Terry Gilliam films seem utterly mundane in comparison.

...ahh... yes... indeed it is... and indeed it does... but don't expect this film on R1 DVD anytime soon... (Note - for the Swedish/Danish capable among the readers of this Forum: there is/was a Danish R2/PAL DVD)

...how wrong I was!!!... (although - note that the release date given by this
particular e-tailer is March 11) (and nor does this title appear on the
[?Canadian?] DV-Depot or DVD Laserman or Total Action Universe sites...) (ahh... but it is mentioned on the Direct Video site!) ...so there you are!...

Alas, it's been rescheduled to 13 March -so should be available soon.
The only info I have is:
Widescreen 1.85:1 anamorphic enhanced for 16x9 TVs
Audio • Swedish - Dolby Digital 5.1
English - Dolby Digital 2.0
French - Dolby Digital 2.0
Subtitles • English
Hopefully it'll be the same disc that they got in Sweden (BE CAREFUL OF SPOILERS ON THAT PAGE)

Yes! I've seen it a couple of times already and it's definitely one of the oddest, most mysterious and fascinating movies I've seen in a long time.
I was amazed at the detail and depth of field the director used in composing certain scenes. Really ingenious.
There's so many peculiar things going on in the strange world of this movie. The people are literally haunted and exist in a perpetual state of shock and purgatory. I love the humor. Great film to think of whenever you have a bad day. The complete absurdity of it all. I liked that scene with the guy who had his hand caught in the door at the train station or the son who's in the institution because according to his father, "writing poetry made him nuts." That scene with everyone struggling to pull the luggage is so completely absurd. Great stuff.
No extras at all which is a shame. Didn't the R2 version have an audio commentary? Would have been great to learn more about the production but I was greatful to finally get the chance to see this amazing movie.

Thanks for that
No idea about a commentary -it would probably not be in English which makes it a bit of a waste of time usually and it's difficult to get a 'feeling' for what's actually being said. Subtitles don't always cut it.
I'll be watching my copy as soon as I get it.
