Just got it today and threw the first two in for a look. They have been somewhat restored... no longer that mushy washed out black/grey with no contrast. But don't expect a criterion - the film elements still have quite a bit of damage. These films are quite old and have not been cared for over the years, so this is to be expected. I've never seen these films in superior shape either on tape or in the theater, but at least now there is nice contrast and tonal range, not to mention subtitles that are readable. This is as good as it will get I'm afraid... still worth a purchase as this is classic and beautiful cinema.
