Top Ten List of Style Over Substance

I've heard about this list from some film major dude. Anybody know the url? My googlin'g efforts weren't very successful. Anyway, the top ten included Chungking Express and Beau Travail.

Which movie do you think deserves this honorable(?) mention?
Let the games begin!

Style over substance? Just about any James Bond flick, various and sundry crap by McG, Tim Burton's "Planet of the Apes" and "Sleepy Hollow", "Amelie", "The Messenger", etc. etc. etc. Nearly any "action movie" and most of what gets dubbed "sci-fi" would likely qualify.

Most definitely not "Chungking Express" or "Beau Travail".

Amelie has both style and substance, thank you very much.

Yes, I think that for me Richard just blew a few credibility points there with his inclusion of both Amelie and Sleepy Hollow in his list of style over substance. To my mind, both of these films (which yes, are incredibly stylish - two of the best looking films I have ever seen) work on so many levels.

Amelie is one of the wittiest films I have seen for a long time and the level of detail in Jeunet's observations of the usually mundane and how he makes them special amazed me. Things like the cherries over the ears, the strawberries on the fingers etc etc... things that you did yourself as a child but had forgotten all about. But, that is just me... I am sure that Richard has his reasons.

regards, Tim...

It seems that the two titles mentioned by the film dude as being on the list are international, so I posted it here.

Of course, feel free to move if necessary.
