Just wondering if anyone has this title yet?
Curious as to how the English 5.1 track is, and if there is the red due from previous pressings.

...fwiw... according to dvdfr the two-disc édition collector (announced,
no release date given) will have DD 5.1 Japanese and French soundtracks and French subtitles only...
...the single-disc édition prestige has an optional DD 5.1 English soundtrack and optional English subs...

"I got mine from Amazon.Fr and they list it with English..."
...indeed... and as I pointed out in my post above, according to dvdfr what you will get is the single(=one)-disc release, with English DD 5.1 soundtrack and English subtitles (and with a French-only dts soundtrack)... note that nowhere does Amazon Fr mention two discs...
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
...much later... if you're up to it, you can 'wade' through this thread on a UK site (with a link to a French site) - confusion reigns supreme - my impression? blame (French?) MIRAMAX for this ultimate SNAFU...

amazon.fr seems not always to be reliable speaking of dvd information. e.g. their 'band of brothers' pack doesn't carry german, italien or dutch subtitles (as they say on their product page) but all the scandinavian ones or are there indeed different French releases of that title I am not aware of .... Hendrik you should know
what I know is that BoB is currently on rental in German video stores.. so ....

Well after shipping the last week in November it finally came today
First thoughts
No RED or Pinks
English track is quite nice ( it did not play in my city theatrically)
It starts with a prompt to select English or French menus from the get go.
The English track is 2.0 stereo
and the Japanese Track is 5.1 Digital stereo
with big English subs. This 5.1 was a nice surprise as I do not
own a amp that plays 6.1 ES so I never could enjoy the digital stereo track with the previous two pressings.
English subtitles appear on the actual image instead of in the letterboxed portions like those found in the R3 and R2 NTSC pressings
Trailers are the same as the R2 Ghibli copy although this time there are English subtitles throughout all trailers, and TV spots
Aside from the film strip trailers are it for extras
The case is a clear flap style similiar to those such Universals Ult Editions of American Pie, Meet Joe Black, Legend etc. Very nice but does not seem to close well. Lot of deep black color shades in the plastic.
The back part flips open from the top and bottom to access the clear plastic plaque that contains the film strip.
I was really unclear what I was getting as I though it was a two disc set but the normal Dolby Digital 5.1 and the chance to hear an advance version of the English track on home video was excellent.
I would recommend this to any one.
It was a joy to have my 5yo Daughter enjoy it so much in the English language.

DVD Talk Limited Edition
I see two versions of Spirited Away on Amazon.Fr...which one should I get? Do they ship to the U.S.?
**Also, FNAC.com lists two versions
**DVDZone2.com list the English track as 5.1
FYI, couple of guys at the Animeondvd forum say the French R2 version does have the Red Tint.
