Thank's for the hints....Here'e the link that I have ....AND IT INDICATES THAT THE DISC HAS ENGLISH SUBS.

http://www.bestsell.com/cgi-bin/best...ml?id=tTMpHUu8

Is this really the case.......the back cover is in English so I assume that it should be subbed but..you never know. Can someone confirm that this disc has indeed English subs....since it appears to be the same one as the one that dvdasian sells.

Thank you so much people!!

Ok, I think that I should assure myself.......IF YOU LOOK REAL CLOSE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE BACK COVER IT DOES SAY:

English and Korean subs.....

No I need to find out hows the quality of the disc....is it a perfect replica of the French disc?

...well... if I may be allowed to split some hairs here: it couldn't be a 'perfect replica' of the French disc - simply because the latter is PAL-encoded, whereas the Korean thingy is NTSC-encoded (and - perhaps - oh horrors! - converted-to-NTSC from a PAL source - which, as I understand it, is a strict no-no)... but I may be wrong, as, indeed, I too often am...

After "Le Maitre de Musique", and "Farinelli", "Le Roi Danse" is the 3rd Gerard Corbiau film where you could almost say that music is the main character. I didn't like that film as much as the other two (especially Le Maitre de Musique), but if you are a lover of baroque classical music, you might find the experience satisfactory.

I just got my copy of The King is Dancing from Canada today. It is the Remstar edition. There seems to be a problem, but I don't know if it is a defective DVD or if it was a poor transfer. The entire film seems to be "sped up." The dialogue, the action, and the music in the film all seem to be moving at a faster than normal pace. I've tried the disc on a couple of players with the same results. If anybody else has this disc, please let me know if you experienced the same problems.

I have borrowed the Korean DVD of La Roi Danse and found that this DVD has only Korean and French subtitles. No English subtitles.

Does it mean that there are two versions of this Korean DVD: one with English subtitles and another with French subtitles, or there is only an error on the DVD box listing English subtitles?

yes there was a Korean disc with English subs. It came in a similar to Malena case...I am however having my doubts how legit this release was. Here's why....

The disc vanished at the same time the Criterion fiasco was discussed on this forum. At the time also almost every French film that came out had English subs...a lot has changed though...now very few French films come with English subs (excluding the Taxi series and Belphegor).
Do you remember how "limited" the limited edition of Blueberry was? In my honest opinion this was an official bootleg...which nowadays also happens to be non-existent.

I really doubt it that some of the discs that came out were licensed to have English subs...hence nowadays the Korean market gets only direct PAL to NTSC ports with added Korean subs.

By the way the front cover of the disc was different (if I recall correctly).
Lol....this is a VERY old thread!!!
