Does RCE (regional coding enhacement) DVD's affect Region 1 players?
Hi. I would like to know if Region 1 players that also play other region dvd's can play RCE dvd's.
I'm from Mexico (region 4). I know that many "multi-zone" players sold in here are affected by RCE.....my question is...... are also multi-zone players sold in USA (region 1) affected?
Thank you.

Any DVD player that has been altered to be multi-region runs the risk of not being compatable with RCE discs. However, all of the multi-region players I've had either allowed me to manually change region, or are unaffected by RCE.

My fear is that i only have one region 1 dvd (memento), but i'm planning to buy spiderman widescreen edition (which is only available on r-1...and also confirmed to be RCE protected). I can play memento perfectly, but don't know how to choose the region on my player. With memento I only introduce the dvd and works like a r4 movie. I've got a Daewoo DVD-2200S (by the way there seems to be no info about this model. Maybe it's just like another model released in the US and here-Mexico-goes by this name)
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Buy the R3 Spiderman, available at www.hivizone.com in the US R3 new releases section. Columbia's release of "The One" in R3 didn't have RCE like it's R1 counterpart did.
