Glad to help. Too late now but it’s worth mentioning that Osterman is pan & scanned from a 2.35:1 widescreen ratio and additionally is a very soft, grimy transfer.

[Well done to majesty for posting this one!]

I decided to give it a go and ordered "The Driver" and "Way of the Dragon" on Sunday. The Bruce Lee arrived today!

I'm not a big martial arts fan and will probably pass it on, but The Driver was for me so I really hope that one turns up safely! I'm sure it will.

....ok ......this is the second time I was gonna post this but forgot....so here it is.....DVDDOO.com has:

THE BELIEVER

the highly controversial movie that was shown during Sundance. It is not available in the US yet......so if you would like to check it out......

other interesting titles(at least in my view):

THE MISSION
REVOLUTION(al pacino's "bomb")
THE DEER HUNTER(anamorphic....much better than the US version)
BIG TOWN (not yet available in the US)......
UNDER SUSPICION (Monica Bellucci, Gene Hackman)...i think that it looks better than the US version

will post more soon.....

Also, my order shows a charge of kr 30,00 for something called "Gebyr Udland"--some foreign fee. Did anyone else get charged for this?

here's the link for the BELIEVER

http://www.dvdoo.com/dvdoo/film.asp?Command=8663

....and looks like THE MISSION and THE DEER HUNTER are out of stock now.

Another interesting title is KISS OF DEATH with Nic Cage and David Caruso....which I do not think is available in the US yet.

...as I said ....lots of good stuff.

For those in the US who have received their order, like me, how much did you get charged? It seemed they charged me 61,20 for the 39kr movie

Also available in the UK and slightly cheaper. Includes a couple of extras too:

http://www.playserver3.com/Play247.a...R2&title=95156

Play don’t ship outside Europe but the usual world wide UK stores carry it also.

DVDoo also have the superb Fall of the Roman Empire in 2.35:1 widescreen. I believe the print isn’t all that hot but for $5 it’ll do until something better comes along.

"31.20(Danish Krona)-the driver dvd plus(+) 30.00 Gebyr Udland (I dont know what that means)"

...it means: +30 Danish Crowns shipping abroad

"Total:61.20...........-(minus)Heraf moms...(dont know what that means either)=5.33USD"

...it means: without VAT

...or as close to that as makes no difference...

Well, jonathan, it's sort of like the the climax of DUCK SOUP, where the Marx Brothers are holed up in a cabin fighting off the enemy. Margret Dumont faints and Groucho starts throwing water on her to revive her. Chico says "Hey, dat's de only water we got!" Groucho says, "Well, it's the only woman we got!".

When the film is released in a widescreen anamorphic transfer, I'll shout "Trentino, that's game!", but for now..

BTW another film available from dvdoo that might be of interest:

Polanski's TESS, 99kr

...and, of course, and in any case, "Osterman" was never a 2.35:1 movie
- but you knew that already, didn't you!?...

...whereas I dimly remember "Tess" being a 'Scope' film...

. . . . . .
